Key 2025 Video Marketing Predictions from Experts

Here is what the experts are saying about the biggest video marketing trends that are going to shake things up in the next year!

1. AR integration into video marketing will rise

Experts expect creators to integrate augmented reality (AR) into video marketing.

And the reason is not far-fetched.

Last year, the mobile AR market value was $11.9 billion. Statista projected that the value will rise to $13.8 billion in 2015, that’s a 16% growth. Also, experts expect the consumer and enterprise AR glasses market to grow by 50% in the same period.

The push to “enhance perception of reality” and reshape the way people interact with the world will drive AR adoption. This AR trend will find its way into video marketing, providing viewers with cool, immersive experiences that are more engaging.

Mushfiq Sarker, a marketing strategist at LaGrande Marketing, with over 15 years of experience, predicts that AR will not just sip into video marketing this year but will dominate.

He believes more businesses will leverage augmented realtit to blend digital elements into the real world to enable people to interact with vcontent in real time.

In his words, “AR integration takes video marketing to a whole new level by blending digital elements with the real world. Instead of just watching a video, audiences can interact with the content in real-time.”

Saker believes that this makes the experience more immersive and engaging.

“Imagine a viewer trying out a product virtually through their screen, like placing furniture in their living room using AR or testing how a pair of sunglasses looks on their face before purchasing.”

AR brings the product into their environment, giving a sense of immediacy and connection.

“Consumers are more likely to remember and act on videos that let them interact with the product or experience it as real. In 2025, AR will move from being a novelty to an expected feature in video marketing, and the brands that embrace it early will have the advantage.”

2. Personalization powered by AI-driven tools will lead the charge

Three out of four business executives believe personalization is essential for digital experiences.

So, we will see more personalized videos this year.

Deepak Shukla, CEO of Pearl Lemon, an award-winning SEO agency in London, believes that video marketing in 2025 will focus heavily on personalization, with AI-driven tools creating tailored content for specific audience segments.

But Alexander Weber, a social media expert with 10 years of experience and founder of Axlek Online, thinks that in 2025, it’ll all be about AI and vertical videos.

He says, “Vertical video will dominate even more strongly in 2025, but with an important twist: highly personalized AI-generated content variations will become the norm for scaling reach.”

Weber’s already seen this work with his golf tutorials.

“I’ve already seen incredible results by adapting my golf tutorial content into personalized versions for different skill levels and demographics. What used to take my team a full week of editing can now be done in hours, allowing us to create targeted variations that speak directly to specific audience segments.”

They even made 24 different versions of one putting video, each with a personalized voiceover and graphics. This helped them reach new groups of people they couldn’t connect with before.

Weber’s advice for 2025? Focus on building a strong core message first, then use AI tools to adapt it for different audience segments—but always maintain human oversight on the final output to ensure quality and authenticity.

According to him, “The marketers who will win in 2025 will be those who can effectively combine custom vertical video content with AI-powered personalization while maintaining their brand’s unique voice and credibility.”

3. Brands will create more shoppable videos

Shoppable videos drive real-time purchasing.

It can increase the conversion rate by up to 70% compared to non-interactive content. The Fresh Market, an online retailer, saw a 113% engagement rate increase by embedding shoppable videos on their website.

That’s how powerful shoppable videos are.

They’re a whole new way to shop online, and more and more brands will jump on this trend.

Shoppable Videos Example | Image Credit: Promo.Com

Daniel Vasilevski, the director and founder of Bright Force Electrical, believes this and predicted that shoppable videos will be huge in 2025.

According to him, these videos combine the power of storytelling with the convenience of e-commerce, creating a seamless experience that enables real-time purchases.

He thinks platforms like TikTok Shop are already showing how well this works.

“When someone watches a video showcasing a product, they can immediately click on an integrated link to buy it without leaving the app. This works because it eliminates extra steps, like going to a profile’s bio, clicking a link, and then completing a registration process.”

He also added that shoppable videos are so effective because people want things fast and easy. These videos work with how people watch stuff online and let them buy things right away.

“As more platforms adopt shoppable features, businesses that integrate this into their marketing strategy will have a huge advantage in engaging audiences and driving conversions.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

But Vasilevski believes shoppable videos aren’t just for retailers.

“For businesses like ours, they bridge the gap between education and action. We, for instance, could create a video explaining the benefits of surge protection with a link to book a consultation or service directly from the video. This makes it easy for potential clients to go from learning about our services to booking them in just one click.”

4. Ephemeral videos will drive viral marketing campaigns

Loris Petro, the marketing manager at Kratom Earth, has worked on video campaigns ranging from product showcases to behind-the-scenes content and has seen marketing trends evolve every year.

He believes that ephemeral content will dominate in 2025.

This refers to videos or images that are short-lived, disappearing after a set time, often within 24 hours. Platforms like Instagram Stories, Snapchat, and TikTok have already popularized this format, but it’s poised to expand even further.

According to Petro, the growing demand for immediacy and authenticity is driving this trend. People are drawn to content that feels exclusive and at the moment, and ephemeral formats capitalize on that sense of urgency.”

He thinks that one reason ephemeral content is so effective is that it generates engagement.

“People are more likely to interact with content they know won’t be there tomorrow. It keeps them checking in regularly, which increases the frequency of brand interactions. The temporary nature of these videos means brands can experiment more without worrying about long-term impact. This opens up opportunities for more creative and less polished storytelling, which audiences find refreshing.”

He also believes that ephemeral content is in line with the shift toward mobile-first consumption as well.

“These short, vertical formats match in with how people use their phones. They’re quick to produce and consume, making them perfect for fast-moving marketing campaigns.”

Petro predicted that by 2025, we’ll likely see even more tools and features built around ephemeral content. And these will allow businesses to customize and measure their efforts more effectively.

5. Short-form videos will lead viewers’ engagements

Several video marketing experts predicted that short-form videos will take center stage in 2025.

For instance, Deepak Shukla of Pearl Lemon thinks that short-form content will dominate due to shrinking attention spans, while platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts will lead the charge.

Imran Khan from Brand Ignite, a Singapore-registered full-service digital agency with over 17 years of experience and offices in the U.S. and Ireland, says…

“Short-form videos will lead viewer engagement, while live streaming and interactive content will enhance real-time interaction.”

Khan also believes that social media platforms will prioritize video content, driving brands to adapt strategies.

However, Richard Sharrock, from Sood Agency, a top-rated UK-based design and online marketing agency, thinks that short-form videos are not just going to be a thing in 2025 but are “going to be even bigger, even more successful, and far more common in 2025.”

According to him, “Due to AI and how simple it makes it to script and plan a short-form video, we’re going to see more TikToks, more Reels, and more YouTube Shorts.”

The SEO specialist also thinks more big brands are going to be using short-form video marketing too, including marketing leading names like Apple, Microsoft, and other household names.

For Keely Closa, who works for Rocket Agency—an award-winning digital agency and a Meta Business and Google Premier Partner—2025 will be the year for short and funny videos.

“With the popularity of TikTok and Instagram, short videos are taking over. They cater to our fast-paced lives and offer a way for brands to deliver their message quickly and effectively, without demanding too much of our time.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

According to the online PR specialist, it’s not just about getting the information; it’s about watching something that makes me laugh, feel something, or learn in a way that doesn’t feel like a hard sell.

She also added that when brands nail this, it’s a game changer for building a real connection with their audience.

For us at Adilo, the future of short-form videos looks even more promising.

Our study of 49,200+ eCommerce YouTube videos found that videos between 181 and 240 seconds, that is 3 and 4 minutes long, are best for maximizing views and engagement.

So, video marketers who want to win in 2025 must rethink their video strategies, prioritizing short, engaging videos that speak directly to the audiences.

6. Dynamic content will power audience insights

We expect to see more dynamic content as businesses thrive to understand their audience better.

Joy Coker, the Head of Content Marketing at Latana predicted that B2B video marketing will lean heavily into adaptive narrative frameworks powered by machine learning.

An adaptive narrative is a story that dynamically changes and adjusts its elements based on users’ actions, preferences, and situations.

It helps tailor the narrative experience to each individual or environment in real time. This way, businesses can now create videos that adjust in real time based on how viewers engage.

Latana, a leading global consumer insights platform, has seen impressive results with this.

“We see real potential in using this to better connect with our target audience insights professionals. Imagine a product demo or a breakdown of a research study that changes based on what you’re most interested in—specific features, methodologies, or case study results.”

Coker believes that this has helped them tailor their product concepts to their ideal customer profile, making their content more relevant, engaging, and easier to digest.

7. The Rise of AI-Generated Avatars and Virtual Influencers

Anbang Xu, founder of JoggAI, a platform that automates video ad creation using AI and avatars, predicted a promising future for AI-generated avatars and virtual influencers.

“AI-generated avatars and virtual influencers will become more mainstream in video marketing. Brands will use these digital personalities to connect with their audiences, reducing the need for human spokespeople and creating new ways to represent their values and products.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

Several businesses and marketers are already keying into the AI avatar trend and succeeding with it.

Xu believes this is just the beginning and hopes to see these virtual figures become more lifelike and versatile, offering endless possibilities for video content creation.

8. TikTok and YouTube will continue to dominate as creators aim to maximize earnings from their videos

Monetary incentives will drive more aggressive video content creation in 2025.

Kim Butler, a digital strategist at Online Optimism, a Google Partner and digital ad design agency founded in 2012, believes that the need to maximize monetary benefits will cause creators to prioritize short and long-form videos on platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

“Tiktok, I think will continue to dominate as well as YouTube (both shorts and long form), as creators tend to get the most monetary benefits for participating.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

Butler believes that brands can take advantage by partnering with niche creators to reach various audiences.

9. Humanized videos will take center stage

Oliver Gaywood predicted that videos with a human element will see much better engagement.

The marketing manager at Dealify believes that people will become tired of AI-created videos, setting the stage for humanized content to thrive.

“In the past, we’ve seen different types of video do well. Explainers, animations, voiceovers, and many more. But with the rise of AI, I think we’re going to see a shift.”

According to him, “People will become bored of videos created by AI, or that they suspect are created with AI. I’m seeing this in my networks already and it’s only going to grow.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

This trend is reshaping video marketing at Dealify, an Australian-licensed finance broker.

“The people in our office have taken the camera and explained what we might have done with a graphic-heavy video before. Views and engagement are better than ever.”

Gaywood says that people connect better with other people than with AI versions of people. As online activities become more suspicious and doubtful, people will want to see a real person at the forefront of videos, even if it’s just a quick appearance at the beginning.

10. AI-generated ad content will face serious pushback

The year 2025 might be the beginning of the end for AI-generated ad content.

Ross Dwyer, founder of Do Good Studio, a leading Australian content agency, believes the biggest change that we’re going to see is the strong division between AI-generated content and human content.

An IAB and Sonata Insights survey found that most advertisers (around 80%) feel at least somewhat positive about using generative AI (genAI) to create ads. However, only 48% of Gen Z and millennial consumers surveyed feel the same.

Dwyer thinks this could be signaling serious pushback on AI-generated advertising.

“I think we are going to see, and already have seen some serious pushback to AI-generated ad content. There will be something to an authenticated real person talking on the other end of that camera.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

He thinks that AI avatars are becoming more popular; there’s something eye-catching about them that makes you stop scrolling. But, after engaging with one for a bit, you start to lose trust. And this could be really bad news for brands.

From experience working with several brands as a content strategist and dealing with different audiences, he’s already seen that people connect with and trust real humans more than AI avatars.

“We already see, in interaction back on the organic content we post for clients, the connection people get and the trust that is built from watching something real, in a world where it is getting harder and harder to tell the difference between an AI-generated avatar and a real human.”

11. Video QR code scanning will lead the way

Scanning video QR codes lets you watch videos instantly.

And ad-free video playback platforms like Adilo are powering this with seamless HD video hosting and cutting-edge video QR code embed capabilities

Robert Weiss, the President of MultiVision Digital and a video expert with over 1,600 successful videos under his belt, predicts video QR code adoption will explode in 2025.

ProfileTree found that QR code scans increased by 57% in 2022–2023, and they project that the number will increase by another 22% by 2025. Weiss believes that this means QR code scanning will become a huge part of video marketing.

“Video marketing gives the best user experience with QR code scans and gives the ability to maximize an ROI for advertising, product launches, social media, traditional direct mail advertising, and more.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

Weiss observed that most companies link scans to websites or PDFs and think it’s terrible for user experience and ROI. Instead, he suggests using video QR code scans because they’re naturally sized for smartphones and provide the best experience for users.

Plus, they can get metrics from QR code scans to prove ROI, and the best part is that these scans can integrate with a CRM system seamlessly.

12. Search-optimized videos will shine

YouTube now sits comfortably as the second-largest search engine behind Google. The platform has a crazy number of users—like, 2.5 billion people use it every month.

That’s around a quarter of the world’s population. Georgi Todorov, the founder and CEO of Create & Grow, believes that businesses will scramble for top spots on YouTube search results to get a slice of the pie.

“Videos with search optimisation will prevail. People treat YouTube like Google, hence ranking becomes really important. To increase discoverability, more marketers will concentrate on SEO-friendly names, descriptions, even AI-generated chapters.”

However, they might need to do more to rank their YouTube videos in the top positions. Our recent study of 1.6 million YouTube videos reveals 19 actionable insights and techniques for boosting YouTube ranking. You might want to check it out.

13. Brands will leverage behind-the-scenes videos to create authentic experiences

People are craving real experiences these days, and brands are already on top of it.

Aaron Henry, the founder and managing director at Foundeast Asia, a Bangkok-based international marketing and public relations agency, thinks that brands are using their employees to create videos around their processes to show how things work to build trust with their audience.

According to him, “Brands are leveraging employee-generated content to provide behind-the-scenes insights and authentic experiences, fostering deeper connections with audiences.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

It’s all about giving people a peek behind the curtain to drive engagement and inspire customers’ confidence in their offerings. And it’s powerful.

A study found that 80% of viewers enjoy seeing behind-the-scenes content. This type of content helps them connect with brands and creators on a personal level, which leads to more engagement and loyalty.

And the best part? Around 70% of consumers are more likely to buy something after watching a behind-the-scenes video that shows how it’s made.

14. Video marketing will become more inclusive

Even though DEI is dividing America today, experts think that inclusivity will become even more important in video marketing by 2025, especially for fashion brands.

Brian Lim, who founded the rave fashion brand, iHeartRaves, says, “People want to feel represented, and inclusive campaigns foster that emotional connection that will drive both engagement and loyalty.”

17 Experts Share 14 Biggest Video Marketing Predictions for 2025 - Adilo Blog

He believes that festival fashion is all about expressing yourself. So it’s super important to feature diverse models of various body types, ethnicities, and styles. Lim thinks this is key to connecting with customers.

They tried it out, and the results were huge.

“When we incorporated body-positive messaging into our inclusive campaign, we engaged audiences by 20% and positively impacted our sales for those specific collections.”
