6 Excellent Sales Pitch Examples for Different Products & Why They Worked So Well

Sales Pitch Examples for Products

The best way to become excellent at pitching is to study sales pitch examples from the best salespeople. You must discover how these rock stars can wade through difficulties, counter objections and close the sale with simple but very effective and powerful words.

Selling can be challenging especially cold selling; if you would see the face prospects make immediately they pick up a phone call, and it turns out to be a salesman, you would give up.

So it’s essential to know these magic words that can melt a rock that expert marketers use to close humongous amounts of sales daily. With the rise of many sales automation tools today, it’s easier than ever to reach a more significant number of prospects and close more deals than you would have before.

Sales Pitch

There’s been an increase in the production of sales automation tools in recent times, but even with the rise, over 61% of sales reps complained that it’s harder to sell today than it was five years ago.

And this is worrying for 2 reasons:

1. Brute automation can’t and will not replace selling. Many people think that selling is a numbers game so with their automation tools if they could reach 5,000 or more prospects, their sales will increase and that’s where most of them get it wrong. Sales is not a numbers game. It’s an emotional game. Customers buy with emotions so you need to know your customers and find out what ticks them, then make sure your message appeals to these things.

For example: just copying a tasteless message and blasting it to 100,000 people will do nothing for you other than land you in spam and get you blocked, but if you can personalize your message for 200 with each message personalized for the receiver will ensure you get more sales than you can count.

2. Sales automation tools have made a lot of people lazy who now try to make up for the poor quality marketing with quantity, which has increased the high rate of spam messages that prospects get making it even harder to get your news through and sell. On average, a typical email user gets 88 emails daily, while a business email user gets up to 150 emails daily. A regular American phone user receives up to 40 text messages a day

In the same way, they’re getting blasted with automated marketing on messenger apps (Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat, Viber, Instagram DM, and Twitter DM) with promotions by different brands and salespeople.

With numbers like these, it’s not hard to imagine why selling today is more complicated than it was five years ago, which means that today, there’s even more, need to stand out and be more personalized with your messaging so you don’t get canned.

So now you see why we must model sales pitch examples for products that are proven to work, and in this blog post, I am featuring the best of the best.

1: Mark Cuban’s phone pitch

When Mark Cuban bought the Dallas Mavericks, the team was losing games and wasn’t doing well, resulting in low ticket sales.

To get the ticket sales up, Cuban put together a team of his best salespeople and they got to work; here’s how Cuban’s calls went;

“This is Mark Cuban, the new owner of the Dallas Mavericks,”

Cuban said, “I know you’ve been to a game, and I just wanted to sit here and tell you that we’d love to have you back.”

At the beginning of these conversations, Cuban was met with objections, such as how bad the team was.

In response, he reminded previous ticket holders of their own experiences going to games as a kid — when it didn’t matter if a team was winning or losing. The point was the game itself. The stadium. The popcorn, cheering, time with mom or dad, uncle or aunt, neighbor, etc. It was a unique experience that cost only $8 a ticket and was more valuable than going to the movies or McDonald’s.

Mark Cuban’s Sales Pitch

This approach worked, and ticket sales began to climb. Cuban bought the Mavericks for $280 million. The team is now valued at $2.3 billion.

Takeaway
When selling, give the prospects the benefits of your product, not the features. Cuban didn’t talk about their beautiful seats, big stadium, or talented players but focused on the unique family bonding and friendships formed over these games, something that is is is is is going to see a movie together or hanging around the house can’t replace.

When next you are creating your sales pitch, take a paper and use pen to draw a line vertically dividing the paper into 2, on the left, list out the features of the product and on the right, list out the benefits of each feature.

Throw away the features list and pitch with the benefits list.

2: Ryan Robinson’s email pitch

Ryan Robinson is a content marketing consultant selling his services to businesses, and his approach is unique.

He provides value first before asking for anything.

The following email netted Robinson a $10,000/m retainer in the end

The approach is agelong and mostly referred to in marketing circles as the “Value First Method.” The theory (which has proven to be practical many times over) is that when you provide a unique value to any prospect first, your chances of getting a response or turning the option to a client increase tenfold.

Takeaway
Your emails should provide real upfront value, Robinson says. Information about himself and services don’t appear until the third paragraph. He then opens the door to chat and gives a more detailed pitch.

So when next you want to send a cold email to a prospect, you should find out details about the prospect, try to identify any problems they may have or something you can do for them and send in that first value.

3: Scrub Daddy’s sales presentation

This sales pitch example is a typical “just show me it does what it says on the tin” scenario.

When crafting a sales pitch, anytime you have the slightest opportunity to show your product in action, even if it’s just 30 seconds. Could you take it?

Nothing convinces prospects better than people seeing your product work as you said it would.

The smiling sponge product received $200,000 from Shark investor Lori Greiner for a 20% stake in the company and has made more than $50 million in sales.

Takeaway
Whenever you have an opportunity to show your product in action, grab it and explore it to the fullest; make the presentation catchy and fun

This approach follows the tried-and-true adage, “Show, don’t tell.” For your presentation, adding visual aids also makes it easier for you to tell your story about your product or service.

4: MailBox Validator’s follow-up sales pitch

A follow-up sales pitch can be a phone call, email, or even social media message. Mailbox Validator’s follow-up sales pitch was sent after meeting the prospect at an event:

The email highlights where the two met and references their conversation. In the third paragraph, the sender, Janet, mentions Jim’s problem and how she can help. She then asks directly for an appointment.

Takeaway
Notice how Janet first referenced their earlier meeting and what they talked about; this process gets the prospect to remember you and drop their guard, which was when Janet slipped in the pitch.  In her rise, she was also particular; she didn’t say let’s talk this week. She was specific with the mode of communication she wanted (phone call) and the time for the call (noon, any day of the week).

Always try to be specific in your closing.

5: Interest Piquing Phone Call Sales Pitch Example

Phone call

Selling over the phone can be quite hard; people like Mark Cuban make it look easy, but what happens when you’re not Mark Cuban and you don’t own Dallas Mavericks with an existing customer base?

You still got to sell. That’s where this incredible phone sales pitch example comes in.

This is perfect for cold-calling your prospects and selling to people who are never heard about your business.

This little script will help you rapidly pique their interest and build trust and rapport over the phone even though it’s the first time you’re speaking with the prospect.

Salesperson: Hey Naomi. It’s Ian from Acme Company. How are you?

Prospect: I’m okay. What can I do for you Ian?

Salesperson: I noticed several of your ads on Facebook and Twitter promoting X product and felt you could boost your conversions by making just a few minor changes.

Prospect: Sorry, what do you guys do?

Salesperson: We work with eCommerce companies like Harry’s to manage their social media ad campaigns. In fact, after only one month of working with Harry’s, for every $1,000 they spend now, they get a 30% increase in conversions.

Prospect: [thinking]

Salesperson: I’d love to learn more about your ad campaigns, Naomi, and share ideas that’ve worked well for us. Can we find a 15-minute window next week for a brief call?”

Takeaway
From the opening line, the salesperson didn’t do what average salespeople do, saying, “Have you got a few minutes to chat about our product?” the salesperson double-checks that the prospect is in the correct position or frame of mind by asking how they are.

This now sets the tone for the conversation but what pique’s the interest of the prospect is when the salesperson explains how they go their number, and this does two things:

1. It alleviates the privacy concern of how did you get my number which would have made the conversation stale

2. Finally, it shows the prospect that the salesperson knows him (the prospect) and has something beneficial to offer.

6: Shultz Photo School Website – Keep it Short

A great sales pitch is not lengthy. If your sales pitch is good, it should leave your prospects wanting more.

Shultz

“We help parents take better pics.”

Takeaway
Notice how they don’t talk about the features or tutorials in the course; instead,  they focus on the critical benefit that any parent who would take that course will want “to take better pictures of their children.”

And that was their entire starter pitch. Nothing more.

With this pitch, the prospect understands immediately what’s in it for them, and you can go ahead and have a fruitful conversation on how they can achieve that benefit with you.

Many SaaS products already use a sales pitch example on the product sales pages.

Conclusion

There is a dark humor that goes “Learn from other people’s experience and mistakes, you might not live long enough to make them yourself”

Research, practice and perfect your pitch diligently, and you are on your way to becoming the most successful salesperson in the world.
