Pros of Sony Vegas Pro

  • It comes with video background and noise removal features and many pro-level options.

  • With Sony Vegas, the user can perform automatic tracking control to an object or image; this function is a remarkable one, as, with this function, users can add better mobility to the video and help users focus the video view to a specific object.

  • IT filters have very significant image edits. Good visualization and definition of our images are essential; this is why using this function has provided remarkable results.

With this feature, users could modify the tone of the pictures that are added to the video and can also manage to change the colors using the filters available for video in general.

These filters are very different, and users could add a filter to give an image a warm touch, a touch of cold or sunset.

  • Below the platform, the audio barrier is seen, and this is where users can add several audio tracks and can also be able to modify the audio of the entire video every second that passes.

This function is much more impressive because it allows users to add another audio barrier, enabling two audio tracks to play simultaneously.

  • The software autosave feature is fantastic, and it has an excellent autosave system that can save all the progress made in the edited video.

This autosave feature does not consume the additional capability of the computer, making it very easy to activate it and not worry about the computer performance.

  • Vegas Pro does not consume much computer resources when the user edits the video and makes audio edits; it consumes a very minimal amount of RAM.

  • Edits and transitions for Vegas Pro are straightforward and effective.

  • Vegas Pro works well and works efficiently without the need for super high-end hardware. It does not require a video card or other high-end components to perform.

But though it will work better with better hardware, it does not need very spectacular hardware to be helpful.

  • Sony Vegas Pro has a powerful audio editing function beyond what is found in similar software.

  • Sony Vegas Pro provides features that can be used to edit Social media videos, YouTube Training videos, and create and edit customers’ Podcast audio.

  • This software acts like what is called a non-linear editor. It does not function as a “tape deck” in a computer program. Non-linear video editing is not complicated, and Vegas Pro provides users with that.

They are also constantly upgrading the platform to help keep up with higher-end NLE systems.

  • It allows users not to rely heavily on graphic card performance and combines with the user’s memory quickly and efficiently.

Its render times are excellent, and the real-time playback feature for Vegas Pro has always been ahead of its competitors.

  • The interface and setup are straightforward to understand, making editing and getting started on any project high-speed and easy.

The creative process is lost if users constantly pull out the manual for help to find out what to do and how to do it. Vegas Pro allows users to get to it and not waste a day on it.

  • To some users, It functions better when dual monitors are used, but using a single screen is good if you don’t mind moving the timeline functionality around.

  • Vegas Pro has links to programs like Audacity for audio editing.

  • Vegas Pro plugins are readily available and easy to use when needed.

  • Vegas Pro has smooth previews and offers fast rendering with GPU acceleration. It has a proxy workflow, Wide format support including HEVC, and customizable encoding options and formats.

  • It records, edits, and mixes camera audio with foley and natural sound. It creates original sound effects and mixes with stock sounds by automating audio mixes with complete control over volume, panning, bussing, and audio effects.

  • Authoring of Blu-ray Discs and DVDs: Vegas Pro has features of DVD layout & design templates that enable users to select how they want their Blu-ray or DVD’s menu system to look.

Users can choose from a set of effects, animated menus, and background as the author and burn Blu-ray discs and DVDs.

Cons of Sony Vegas Pro

  • The GUI needs to be smoother and glitch-free, so it must be worked on to improve its operational performance.

  • Vegas Pro hangs a lot, so it needs to be improved to make it more stable.

  • Video rendering is slower in Vegas Pro compared to other software.

  • One of the main problems with this editing tool is that it consumes a lot of time when rendering the video.

Rendering the video is the process of applying all the modifications to the video and converting it to stable quality.

Still, this process takes approximately 2 hours or max, and this time all depends on how long the video is. Another issue is that the computer cannot be used as it may be slow in operation due to the high consumption of rendering.

  • IT also offers features that help translate the audio of the video automatically, it also transforms the audio into subtitles, but these are usually not as accurate.

As this is an automated function, it is usually not as precise, making the subtitles not have a good translation when processed manually.

  • Vegas Pro has no customer support after purchase, which is a problem because users who are just starting video editing and need help or direction in using the software can not reach out to the company and would have to look for an alternative.

Since Sony sold out of Vegas, the customer service has not been stable but has declined. Users complain that there has been no success in reaching anyone by phone and the email support is not very quick.

  • Its auto-save feature is not as intuitive enough to recover all edits after a crash of the software.

  • Vegas Pro software crashes on simple projects and gets worse with complexity. This can be very frustrating and cause people to choose an alternative.

  • Vegas Pro would have been better if it was available in the Apple format.

  • When using this software, It is advisable to download multiple codecs that allow the user to open different video formats simultaneously.

  • Users should ensure that their computer has enough memory to handle the demands they put on it. A computer with higher memory will be recommended if the project is a big task.

  • Vegas Pro can take 4k video, but it still struggles to keep up when playing back or processing 4k. This is suspected partially because the Vegas computer is not that powerful enough to handle 4k efficiently.

  • Vegas Pro does not accept or import SVG graphics which is not good, and sometimes it does not work well with the add-ons.

  • Despite the ease of use of Vegas Pro, some Hollywood-style effects are a real challenge.

  • Zooming into portions of the screen/panning can be difficult with Vegas Pro.

  • Having an option that allows users to save files in formats that other editing suites can open would be excellent.

Conclusion

Vegas Pro provides some extraordinary features that are superior to what other leading video editing software renders.

The best part is that it is more affordable and available in perpetual licensing. Users enjoy how its user interface has remained constant throughout time.

As the only cheaper option with pro-level features, it helps users save money, time and workforce as it contains mind-blowing features.

Because of Vegas Pro’s advanced Pro-level features that other software does not contain, it has become an excellent companion.
